this is the somatic foundation for embodied self-inquiry.

while rooted in the established sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda, this work is recontextualized and attuned to the living, complex organism that is reading this now.

the framework is foundational, but the expression is entirely new— this is a toolkit built for the specific composition of your nervous system.

01. clarification

  • process: removal of physical and mental debris—like cognitive waste and stagnant energy—through physiological hygiene and lifestyle shifts

  • intention: clear the biological "noise" that blurs your internal and external perception.

02. energetic locks (bandhas & mudras)

  • process: sequencing of muscular contractions and gestures to gather and direct the flow of internal energy (prāṇa).

  • intention: establish structural integrity of the internal environment; energy is contained rather than lost to reflexive patterns.

03. breath control (prāṇāyāma)

  • process: adjusting the rhythm of your breath to directly influence the autonomic nervous system.

  • intention: shift the body out of a "braced" states and into a baseline of physiological ease.

04. sense anchoring (pratyāhāra)

  • process: decoupling attention from external triggers and environmental hooks.

  • intention: establish the internal landscape as the primary site of inquiry.

05. meditation

  • process: practicing non-reactive observation while sitting in stillness.

  • intention: a felt sense and recognition as the space where thoughts occur, rather than identifying with the thoughts themselves.

06. movement modalities

  • process: physical training and embodiment through endurance, resistance, balance, and play.

  • intention: enhance overall health, functionality and longevity in appreciation of the body.

07. nutrition

  • process: aligning your diet with your specific body constitution through seasonal rhythms.

  • intention: enhance digestion, energy, and overall well-being.

08. self-study (svādhyāya)

  • process: inquiring into the sense of “I” through negation of everything it is not (neti neti).

  • intention: equanimity

09. ritual

  • process: designing daily rhythms for rest, movement, and relationship.

  • intention: create consistent points of contact with yourself each day.

let’s build you a little toolkit
